S. 4668 — Protect College Sports Act of 2026

This bill presents the rules for college athletes who are paid for their name, picture, or fame. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) is the sponsor. Pay over $600 would be reported. An agent could not take more than 5%. It would keep the current limit on how much a school can share with athletes, and raise that limit when prices rise. Big sports schools could not cut smaller sports teams as much. The House committee version was set aside on September 24, 2026. The Senate list for September 28 still named this bill. It is not a law.
